25 working at fast-food

I find it weird how people CHOOSE to be over the age of 21+ and decide that their career is going to be working a minimum wage job..
I understand some situations, its peoples only choice.
But for others why?? And they often regret their choices as well.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

They may have issues that aren’t immediately apparent to you that make it very difficult to for them to hold down a better paying job. Focus on your own life, you will be happier.

We have people in my town that actually love their retail and grocery jobs(myself included). At the end the day, I'm always going to have respect for a person who works hard and makes an honest living over someone that does illegal shit or someone that refuses to work.

For the brief time I worked in fast food some of the others there seemed to genuienly enjoy it. Had I been extroverted and less socially anxious I could honestly see why too though it's not something i'd ever pursue for the longterm. I think its silly to look down upon those who work in fast food for any reason. As much junk as people love to eat ya'll should be thankful someone's bothering to serve it to ya.

I get a disability check so I don't need to get a better job or even work full time, I can just do my part time shitty job & still have enough money to buy whatever I want & do my hobbies (which also earn me so extra money)

LA you took the words right out of my mouth.

I've said it before, almost every job/company out there has somebody that comes to work in a suit and tie and makes more than six figures.

If you're good at it and accept the fact that it is your responsibility to move up. It is not somebody else's job to give you enough money to live. Then most jobs offer that opportunity.

Granted there are people who don't want to move up or take on responsibility. That's fine we need a lot of worker bees.

I greatly appreciate those who work those jobs flipping burgers or being a cashier or stocker.
A lot of time those jobs have benefits that you don't find in career jobs, such as; part time, flexible hours, location, and many more.

You can make a career out of starting in fast food. You just need to increase in responsibility until you've hit the peak usefulness of the area. It's entirely possible to work your way up from fry cook to manager. Just takes time and not smoking weed during your smoke breaks.

It's funny how many middle aged women you see working dead end cashier jobs. Those are the people you see asking for a 15$ min wage. Whenever I see one of then I already know this is the type of place I'm better off helping myself than asking where something is.

I know some people are just too caught up in their victim mentality to try in life. I tried to get one of my friends a job making good money he wouldnt show up. Pussy.

If they weren't forced into that situation the 1% couldn't have more than they need and the 1% always think they need more

The fast food workers where I live are almost exclusively illegal immigrants.

It was a good first job for young people to gain work experience.

I'm still friends with those co workers. In highschool it wasnt just a job. It was a job with the benefits of hanging out with our weird coworkers.

Some people have no ambition and just want to get by.
