18 cavities

I do have a sweet tooth, but 18 cavities! I am 19 years old and have had 2 cavities in my life and last time I went to the dentist they said I have 18 cavities! My diet was even worse when I was really young and I have brushed them everyday twice a day and flossed a few times a week and STILL 18!!!! cavities. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing??? My mom called the dentist to see if there is anything we can do to help my teeth and she asked my mom if I was a crack head! I have never done crack or anything of the sort so that was really shocking. But my teeth are so bad that she thinks I am a drug addict! The dentist told my mom that she went home upset because my teeth were so horrible and she had never seen anything like it. Is 18 cavities absolutely rare?

  • Wouldn't hurt to get a 2nd opinion from another dentist.

as a hygienist. One you need to get your diet analysed. Not only what you eat but how you eat it. soda, energy drinks, fruits, candy, juice are major culprits. Cut back and stop sipping, snacking on these thoughout the day. Only with meals and only in a 20 minute time period If you don't do this your having acid attacks in your mouth 24/7. Also, rinse with Act or Listerine Total Care 2x/daily to prevent future cavities. Chew gum after eating. Brush with a fluoride containing toothpaste and floss at night.
    18 cavities is not normal.

Flouride may very well be the problem. There are no FDA regulations on foods containing fluoride and overdose causes the teeth to rot.

It's especially strange that hygienists are not taught this and that they then ask you to soak in it for fifteen minutes after opening micro wounds at the gum-line during cleaning right before the fluoride soak.

This allows the fluoride to enter the bloodstream undiluted near to the brain where it collects in the pineal gland and begins premature calcification which results in an asymptomatic cascade response of a persons endocrine system causing doctors to send people away as hypochondriacs, or ply them with whichever pharmaceuticals they are lining their pockets doling out.

The pineal secretes Melatonin, Serotonin, Tryptophan, and DMT.
Every non prescription medication on the market for weight-loss, sleep-aid, anxiety, etc. etc. contain melatonin serotonin and tryptophan which is the reason these things are not regulated. Your body is supposed to produce them naturally unless your society has gone and turned this gland into a little stone in your head for you.

      It's really rather fucked up.

You should do some research into just how little they taught you about this chemical you are endorsing.

This is not to criticize you but the entire medical 'factory' system which is meant to keep us healthy, not create markets for itself. I just think you might be shocked at the misinformation you've been given.

I had the same thing happen to me! I am 18, and I brush three times a day and floss daily. I went into the dentist office after NEVER having a cavity in my life, and was told I had 14!!! I was so upset, like to the point where I almost cried in the office. I mean come on, no cavities was something I was proud of AND I flossed all the time! But anyway suffice to say, it's because I started to drink a lot of acidic drinks. I had the this Peace Tea everyday that had a lot of citric acid in it. But don't worry, I feel you on this one, not sure if it's normal, but I'm with you!

Some people have softer teeth, flouride is supposed to help but it is probably too late for you. I also think dentists are like vets and mechanics and will take advantage of people to make a buck.

Bulimia erodes enamel. If you secretly have this then get help for it.

A turning point in your life.

It should be, if you want to keep your teeth.

When my blood sugar hit 113 I IMMEDIATELY changed diet, exercise, etc, now 93.

Lots of good tips above. Often overlooked is to brush, then FLOSS and rinse before going to bed EACH NIGHT. Takes less than 10 minutes.

Otherwise that food stuck between the teeth ROTS away and causes lots of decay. Done properly, morning breath will be MUCH milder, indicating good dental health.

    Oh yeah, NOT NORMAL!

make sure you don't let food of any sort stay stuck in your teeth, especially sweets. After you eat, go rinse your mouth out with water to get all the chocolate/food off of your teeth. If you let it sit on your teeth it will eat your enamel very fast.

Well brushing ur teeth is the most practical method of prevention, and if that doesnt work, then it must be genetic or something like that. is there such a thing as enamel supplements? or u could just get them all crowned, tho that will more than likely cost u
