Most clubs I've been in are full of moderately-tipsy people who are just there to have a good time. However, I have been to clubs where I've literally seen men standing along the wall waiting to pounce on a lone woman, but that was honestly only once or twice.
Might sound funny, but if you're a girl, maybe try gay clubs to ease you into it? If you have any gay friends you could go with, that can get you used to the atmosphere of a club where there aren't any letching straight guys, until you feel ready to move onto the mainstream clubs.
Actually I was offered by my lesbian mate to go to a gay club couple years back. I was hesitant & didn't go because I was nervous to get hit on by a girl and I thought it was only for gay girls. She told me straight girls go there too but I was still chicken. I actually regret that now as I'm leaning towards girls more hehe. I actually am drawn to the amazing techno, electronic music that is being showcased, not the actual club scene.
22 and never been to a club! I'm also afraid! IIN?

Depends on the club.
