    Pretty sure it was a Mayan belief that the world would end in 2012, not a Chinese one.

      I was taking 'they' as a broad reference to people purporting to be in the know :)

      They say you swallow 8 spiders a year whilst asleep!

      They say you shouldn't swim straight after eating or you'll get cramp!

      You know what they say... Yadda yadda yadda.
