I'm male. Straight. 43 years old. Single. I'm a trauma RN in an ICU. Helping others pretty much defines "the meaning of life" for me personally.
It's what works for me. Life before was a quest for meaning. I finally found it.
Helping others allowed me to forget about myself (a mild obsession to say the least)and ironically, due to the amount of stress and work involved, also allowed me to relax.
Don't get me wrong. I'm no saint. I like to drink and have shallow, meaningless sex as much as the next guy but I also take a bit more time to get to know a woman, get to like her, possibly even love her before I use and degrade her.
