I think you need to let him be who he wants to be. You can't force this on him. If you do, it's most likely going to backfire.

Honestly, it sounds like people just want to be completely rude for no reason. I don't know why, but it seems like a lot more people seem to get a kick out of being a jackass and starting crap.
